Bittensor Infrastructure

Bittensor is a decentralized network for machine learning that uses the $TAO token to incentivize and reward contributions. The network is designed around three primary roles that collaborate to process AI tasks and improve models:

  • Miners: Provide computational resources and train AI models. They compete to answer user queries with high-quality results.

  • Validators: Evaluate and score the miners’ model outputs for accuracy, relevance, and quality. This help identify the best-performing models.

  • Users: Submit tasks and queries to the network and pay for these services with $TAO tokens. They receive answers generated by the miners’ models.

When a user submits an AI query, validators distribute the task to miners and later assess the answers. This Proof-of-Intelligence (PoI) consensus process means better answers (as determined by consensus of the validators) lead to greater rewards. Miners whose models produce useful results, as well as the validators who correctly evaluate them, earn $TAO in proportion to their contributions. Bittensor turns AI model output into a competitive “mining” activity: the more intelligent and helpful the contribution, the more $TAO is earned.
